Thankful Thursday

Since it is the middle of the night and I can't sleep, I decided to blog! Here are some things I am thankful for this week.

  1. I am thankful that I had a safe trip to my dad's and back.
  2. I am thankful for the great visit we had.
  3. I am thankful that I got to see great grandma. I really truly think that was the last time I will see her alive on this earth. She said she knew who we were, but she called Ciara a boy and kept asking everyone who went by if they had an opening for a job. She is now 93 years old and has been in and out of reality since her cerebral hemorrhage last year. I think she has been living on borrowed time since then.
  4. I am thankful that I slept in a room with 1 cat and 6 kittens and my allergies were fine. Those pills were great, Aunt Venita!! One night the mama got upset cause we were in there and decided to move them. We woke up to a kitten crying. Ciara looked under the bed and saw one little kitten. We didn't know where she took the rest, so we had to listen to that kitten cry forever. By morning, all the kittens were safely under the dresser with their mom.
  5. I am thankful that Ciara and I made it to shelter tonight when the sirens went off and that our house was fine. That was a little scary!
  6. I am thankful that I have a job to go to in a few weeks, but wishing summer would last longer.
  7. I am thankful for my daughter. She is fun and excitement with a little exasperation thrown in, but I love her.
  8. I am thankful for friends who answer their telephones.
  9. I am thankful for God's forgiveness and grace.
  10. I am extremely thankful for my wonderful step-mom. She is my best friend. She is struggling as much as I am, yet she took me to the grocery store and stocked me up on food before I left and bought my gas to go home on. She is in constant pain with bad knees, and if I had one wish, I would wish to make her pain free. She raises my two nephews, puts up with my dad - who is helpless, watches out for her mother in the nursing home, takes the renter to and from work everyday, and picks up my sister and carts her around. She deserves a trip to somewhere exciting!
That is ten and I am getting tired. I am thankful for my friends who are coming over tomorrow to scrapbook with me.

Night, night....

I am also thankful for friends who answer their phones or at least call me back! Why is that so rare? Or, is it just me??? :-)
