Friends

Today's post is dedicated to a great friend, Beverly. She grew up in Petersburg, Tx. I grew up in Vega, Tx. We didn't meet until we went to college in Canyon, TX although we believe we both marched together on a football field when our band directors decided to join up for halftime and have both bands march together.

Beverly was my mentor when I got my first college job. She worked in the library. If any of you have been there, you know the library is pretty big. There are lots of departments and we worked in Circulation, which was the busiest and most fun. She taught me how to do everything there. She taught me a lot of things. She and I became friends and have remained friends until this day. I won't even tell you how many years that has been!

Bev lives in Arkansas now and I love to go visit her. She has supported me through all my crazy adventures in my life and was even a bridesmaid for my biggest mistake! Today is her birthday. She has had a pretty rough year. She was laid off a few months ago from the place she has worked at for years. Shortly after that she found out that her dog had cancer. He died today. Talk about a bummer birthday.

Bev, I want you to know that I love you and miss you and I believe God has big things in store for your life. Keep hanging in there.

Steph,

Thank you for the blog. It has indeed been a very rough year and my birthday really sucked. I miss my buddy, my baby, my protector, my sweet Gordy. Thank you for being the wonderful friend you have always been. We have seen a lot of happiness and sadness, good and bad but we have somehow managed to stay close and friends. I love you bunches.
