Remember, was it just last year, that the post office was going up on its postage and offered the Forever stamps? You could buy stamps at that price that you could use "forever". Well, I am a great card maker, but never actually send them. I make them, love looking at them and showing my friends, but don't ever actually "MAIL" them. That would require too much commitment!! This year, I decided to try to be better, so I have mailed two or three. But I am running out of "FOREVER" stamps already. I think I have two left. The last card I mailed didn't have the right postage. I had opened a brand new roll of stamps, and it was already "outdated". Things are changing so fast.
Who knew that forever would last so long? Here I am just a year later, facing yet another postage increase, wishing I had bought some more of those forever stamps. I am reminded of another "Forever" we all face. I can't even imagine forever. How long is that? My forever stamps are gone in just a year, but what about the real "forever"? We certainly won't be needing postage stamps then.
One day our earthly bodies will cease to work. We will step into "forever" heaven, or "forever" hell. How long will that forever be? Much longer than the postage stamp lasted. Are you ready for your forever? We know not the day that we will die, or the day that Jesus will come back, so make sure you are ready NOW! Don't spend your forever saying "I shoulda..."
