Deer
I hate deer. I mean they are beautiful and graceful and all, but I am so tired of driving on roads that deer frequent. I am beginning to think I could add them to the "things Noah shouldn't have taken on the ark" list I am making with such things as snakes, mice, ticks, mosquitoes... I just got home from a visit with my aunt. I drive from Erick, Ok to Hollis, OK and then to Childress. I usually love this road - in the daytime. I tried to get away earlier, but I ended up hitting that part of my trip at sundown. For some reason I just had a creepy feeling about the deer tonight. Maybe it is because last time we came through I found a small herd on the highway and am still wondering how I didn't hit one. Tonight, we saw around 20 or so, but they were all alone, and they were from just outside Erick to just outside of Childress. It makes the last hour of my drive stressful. One just stood in the middle of the road while I slowed down and drove around it. Ciara said, "Mom it is just a baby, cause it doesn't have any horns." She needs a little deer education. The first one I saw was standing right beside a fence, and jumped it. Those guys are pretty agile. I also saw several owls tonight. Some were in the middle of the road, beside the road, and some were flying in front of my windshield. We saw a raccoon and coyote also. I am so glad to be safe at home. Now I am going to bed. It has been a long day. Maybe I can finish the dream I had a few nights ago where a gorgeous movie star fell in love with me and we ran off to Vegas.....night, night:)

I'm glad you are home safe. I tried to call you (Jules gave me your #) to tell you a blog story. Maybe some other time.
So first of all, sounds like you have a very eventful drive home. Secondly, who was the actor? I had a scary experience the other night driving out to Holiday Island to do laundry. A car was coming around a curve and I noticed something strange about its lights so it made me slow down. When the lights were no longer blinding me, I could see a deer walking directly in front of my car. Luckily I had slowed down. Then coming back, there was an armadillo in my lane of traffic. Isn't nature wonderful?
