Today was the tea party to start off the Heart To Heart woman's ministry. I signed up for this because I have had two wonderful One on One experiences through Women on Mission in the past. I was partnered up with wonderful women who still mean a lot to me today. So I decided to take the plunge and get involved again. It is based on the bible verse that says: Let the older women teach the younger women. Titus 2:3 At my age I didn't know if I would be partnered with a younger or older person. As it got closer to the day, I started stressing about whether or not I really wanted to do this. What if I got someone I didn't like or they didn't like me or we had nothing in common, or they didn't have the time to commit, or I didn't want to spend the time to commit.... As you know I have that issue about wanting to know about everything that is going to happen. Also the invitation said casual dress, but you could wear gloves and hats if you wanted. I don't own gloves and a hat unless they are winter ones. And what did casual mean??? My casual, or someone else's casual. I finally decided that it was Saturday and I would just go comfy. Only two people there had hats, and none had gloves. The tables were set up in a circle with two place settings of beautiful china on each end. Each end had their own set of treats, two of each and a tea pot. We found our name on a heart shaped ornament and took our seat. We were instructed to trade hearts so we would remember our partner and to fill out a little questionnaire about each other so we could contact each other.
I was so excited to find out who my partner was. She is a woman I have known of for several years, but never gotten to know. She likes to talk, scrapbook, make cards, sew, crochet, do artsy projects... Man are we gonna have fun together. We have so much in common. She is divorced, raised her kids alone (yes, she is the older one), likes House and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Unfortunately, we share some not so good characteristics also, but we can work on those together. She is from Childress and even knows who Jimmy Clifton is!!! (Let me clarify, that wasn't one of the not so good characteristics we both share!!!!) She has also taught me a lot already. She is going to study about curing my depression!! Won't that be great!
I am seriously excited about what God will do and how He will work in both of our lives and we share with each other. I am so glad I signed up to be a part of this ministry.
Ciara got to stay with my amazing friend, MV. Thanks so much! She loved staying there. She got to ride bikes and play with a friend and have a cupcake. And I got some big girl time that I desperately needed. Life is good...
