Friday Flick Review

I decided after Christmas that I would start putting recipes on my blog.  Well, since I only tried about 2 new recipes and one was horrible and I will never make it again, that didn't work.  So I decided I would do a movie review.  These movies are older movies and not just out at the box office, cause I usually don't know what is out.  I usually watch a pay per view or wait til it comes to cable tv channels.  This week I am going to review Precious.

Life is hard. Life is short. Life is painful. Life is rich. Life is....Precious.  This is a movie about an overweight teen in Harlem who is pregnant with her 2nd child.  She goes to an alternative school and the teacher realizes she has a reading problem and helps her learn to read.  I would not let Ciara watch this movie.  There was a lot of violence and sexual content.  Parts of it were HORRIBLE.  But those parts were the story itself, not the movie.  The movie is really good.  It touched a part deep in my heart that made me want to reach out to teens like this girl.  It also shows how we can make a difference.  Plus, it made me feel like a better mom.  Even at my worst I have never been as bad as the mother in that movie.  This is a good movie, but beware.  You are going to see horrible things in this movie and you will probably cry.  It does give you hope in the end.

This is a video I saw today that was so inspiring.  It does last 15 minutes, but it is worth hanging around til the very end.  The ending is such a surprise.  We should all VALIDATE each other more.  So I am going to start with my readers.  You guys are great!!  Really.  I love the comments you made.  You encourage me so much.  You are great at making me feel loved and special!  You guys are the best friends there are!  Thanks for reading.... stay tuned.....
