Phase One: Complete

This is an update on the organizing challenge I entered.  If I wasn't so desperate to clean my house, I would just chuck it all and forget it.  But here goes.  I planned to do a load of laundry every night, clean off the cabinets, and maybe, I said maybe, go through the tool chest.  I did a load of laundry every night.  I started to clean off the cabinet, but decided to wait until I could move something off it into a real place.  There isn't really much on the cabinets anyway.  Today I cleaned a little on the floor.  I threw away 3 trash bags of trash.  I was going to throw some big pillows away, but decided they would make good sleeping beds for the animals.  I need to think more about how I want their beds.

As I went through the trash I found this:

I hate throwing all this plastic away.  Does anyone have an idea?  My grandma used to wash them, and cut coat hangers for doll clothes that she sold out of plastic bottles.  I can't think of anything I need out of that plastic.  I guess I could run it through the sizzix and make card embellishments, but really, any ideas out there??????

This week's plan is not as energetic as last week's.  I just plan to do a load of laundry every night.  I might try the tool chest, but probably not.  I have got to do my taxes, take two online trainings, put a little energy into other areas of my house, and have a couple of meetings at night this week.  I also have a stampin' up! party to get ready for Saturday.  And if weather permits, I may be going to Wichita Falls to see my step-mom.   It will be  busy week and a few loads of laundry is all I can devote to that room this week.

It has occurred to me numerous times that I might not meet my deadline.  I am ok with that.  I don't really have to meet a deadline.  I just want to get it done.  Anything I do in there is better than it was, and today it is much better than last week.  Just keeping it real.  I don't want to consume my life with meeting this deadline.  That said, I think I will go straighten my daughter's hair so her friends won't say she has jungle hair anymore.  Wish me luck with that!!

Awesome job!! Keep up the good work! You are wise to pace yourself at your pace. Looks like things are going great though. Wish i had a clever use for the plastic bottles, other than just recycling them.
