I really, really wanted to tell you five things you don't know about me. I love the idea of a little mystery. But honestly, I can't think of anything, but my weight, and I am not telling that-for sure!!! So here are some things that maybe you forgot about me. Why am I dedicating this post to me??? Well, it is MY blog and it is my birthday!!! It only comes once a year and I plan on enjoying today.
1. I always, always, always wanted to adopt. When I was a little girl, my barbies always found babies left at their door. My barbies never had fancy careers or fashion shows. They had lots and lots of babies!
2. If it weren't for the fear of losing Ciara, I would adopt again. I would love to have more children and that is why I got a big house. However, CPS and I did not end on a happy note.
3. I hate cleaning. I have some sort of weird psychosis when it comes to cleaning. I can not just put stuff up or "away". It must be organized, dealt with, totally disinfected, vacuumed, or scrubbed. Otherwise, it must stay in a dirty pile in the middle of the floor!! I know, I am crazy. I have drawers dedicated to things. I would rather have an empty drawer and junk laying on a chair than a drawer with misc. things that had no purpose. Is that freaky or what??? Ciara on the other hand, can throw everything in one big drawer, or toy box and it makes me crazy. I bought her $250 worth of these shelves with cubbies to organize her things. It was a waste. She doesn't care. She throws it all in a box, or just mixes things up. I know part of this comes with age, and I try to teach her how to organize it. Maybe that is why I have such a hard time teaching her. So a ten minute cleaning job for someone would take me all day to finish. I have two friends who are just like me, so maybe I am not so CRAZY!!!
4. I secretly want to be a tv host of a scrapbooking show or craft show. I have watched so many Carol Duvall's, Scrapbooking Memories, and Sandi Genovese shows that I just know I missed my calling. That is why I love Stampin' Up! and technique classes and workshops. When I first started, I always went to some one's house. I ALWAYS got a babysitter for Ciara, so I would be able to focus on the products. Well, about a year into it, the babysitter bailed on me at the last minute and I had to take Ciara. She crafted with me, so I thought she would be my little helper. She sat beside me and watched and helped. After about half an hour she said, "Momma, why are you bossing all your friends?" Well, it is my secret desire to teach the world to craft!!!
5. I thank God that he put me in this time period. I love air conditioning, driving a car, watching tv with a dvr so I can rewind and hear what they said, or tape my shows for later. I love pay per view, on demand tv, microwaves, steamers, as seen on tv products like my awesome auger that I haven't used yet!! I love computers, and facebook farming and blogging. I love pedicures and manicures and hair straighteners and curling irons. I love updated medicine, telephones that I can take with me anywhere and even access the Internet on. I don't understand twitter, but love the idea of it. I love wearing shorts and t-shirts and swimming suits to swim in and flip flops. I could not imagine having to wear all those petticoats and long dresses and those horrid looking shoes that laced up. I like buying my groceries at a store instead of having to plant and harvest them myself. I could not imagine a 100 degree day that I had to suffer through without air conditioning. Yep, I am pretty spoiled and I thank God he saw fit to put me in this time period.
Yesterday I was reflecting on being 45 years old. I was feeling pretty proud of myself for making it this far. Then I overheard some people talking. One guy said, "Oh so and so died. She was 105!" I couldn't even imagine this. I got to thinking that Ciara was born in the year 2000. If she lives to be 105 she will live until the year 2105. Can you imagine what kinds of things there will be then????
Live Long and Enjoy
