Summer is Ending

This hasn't been a great summer as summer's go. I mean, last year I got to go to the Grand Canyon. I didn't go anywhere this summer except to both my aunt's houses and my dad's. I was going to go through each room in my house and purge and clean and organize. I managed to get halfway through my bathroom (the littlest room in the house) and hit a roadblock, so I stopped. Mostly Ciara and I have enjoyed being lazy, playing around on the computer, eating snow cones, going to the park most evenings.

So now that I am a few days away from "the real world", I have started doing stuff. Today I went to the school and started thinking about decorating. Our theme this year is Where College Begins. We have all picked a college to represent. I chose North Central Texas College. My step-mom works in the cafeteria there. This summer, when I visited, I was fortunate to receive several things from the intramural director. She gave me t-shirts, frisbees, and cups. I copied the fighting lion off the t-shirt and tried to make a poster. I reached hard part and tried to call my artist friend for help, but she was gone. So I brought it home to try again. I will show the final pic. when I am done.

I straightened Ciara's hair today. She likes her hair long and straight and that wasn't how God made her!!! I chemically straightened it. It looks so good, and it is so nice to actually comb through it without tons of tangles. She looks more grown up this way, but she is growing up. I remember the first time I ever straightened her hair I thought she looked 8 years old. Well, she is 8 1/2 years old now. Time passes so fast. Now she looks 12!

Well, it is time to be off to the park for our daily trek. We go late when it cools off and then stay til dark. Then we come home and be night owls and stay up way too late. I will miss the lazy days and snow cones and sleeping late cause I stayed up late. Bye, bye summer.....
