The Best Turkey Dish Ever

When I was a little kid, my grandmother made a yummy turkey casserole after Thanksgiving.  I have tried so hard to recreate this recipe.  This year, I came the closest ever.  I think we called this turkey chilli, but I decided since this is my recipe, I want to come up with my own name.  It is a yummy recipe, but mostly, it is the memory attached.  It was my favorite Thanksgiving dish.  Grandma never ever made it with chicken or anything else.  It was only for holidays.  Tonight, I made the dish.  I was so excited about making it and wanted my daughter to learn to make it with me.  She was in a bad mood and hated cooking today.  She didn't even try a bite.  What Ev!!!  Maybe someday she will have a memory of me that she wants to hang on to, and it won't be this casserole.  But back to MY memory.  Here is the recipe, best I can do.  My aunt's may have their own versions, but this is mine.  Help me think of a name for it!!  Something great, something as great as the memory.

leftover chopped turkey
1 can rotel
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 small cans milk
1/2 chopped onion
1package shredded velveeta
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar
doritos (get the good kind, your favorite)

2 tblsps chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1tsp salt

Mix turkey, rotel, soups, milk, onion, velveeta, chili powder, garlic powder, and salt in saucepan and heat over medium heat until really hot.  pour a small amount of this mixture on bottom of pan.  Layer package of doritos, then the rest of the mixture.  Cook in oven for 30 min at 350 *.  Add cheddar cheese to top and put back in oven for about 5 more minutes until cheese melted.

I know it isn't grandma's, but it comes pretty close.

Leave a comment and help me think of a name!
