Vacation, All I Ever Wanted....
Ciara and I took a vacation to visit family last week. We started out by going to my Aunt's house. All my cousins were there and we had a great visit. We got to swim, go to the lake, watch fireworks, pop our own fireworks, scrapbook a little, eat tons of yummy food. It was a great July 4th weekend. Then we left to go spend time with my cousin. She worked two days we were there and the kids went to vbs from 8-3 the three days we were there. Ciara had a good time. Their VBS is called Truth Raiders and they go to different locations and seek out things. This year they went to Enid, Duncan, and OKC to the omniplex. They all had a great time. They were usually so tired when they got home that we didn't do a whole lot in the evenings. Friday Shari and I had all day together and then that evening her husband went to a special church event, and left us alone with the kids. That is when the real memories that we will never forget of this vacation started...
The kids had been wanting to go to the batting cages, so we loaded Myah (13), Trey (10) and Ciara (9) up as well as a friend of Shari's named Kimmberly, and we took off. We had a great time. Ciara got the camera to take pictures and got caught up in the netting stuff and fell. She hurt her elbow a little and broke the camera. We all hit one round of balls and were starting on our second round when a ball hit Trey on the hand. That ended it for him. His knuckle swelled up up and he was in terrible pain.
Then we decided that we should go ahead and do the rest of the fireworks since we were leaving the next day. ( I believe that I mentioned to my cousin that we weren't getting much scrapbooking done and she said that we were making lots of memories! Little did we know....) Shari called her friend Kim who lives out in the country and she said come on!! So the six of us go to her house where she is alone with her four boys cause her husband is at the same church event. We visit for a little while and then Shari and I take the kids outside. We do this little car that goes back and forth. We light up a bunch of smoke bombs. Then we move farther out to do some bigger things. We do a black cat and ooh and aah. Then we do some zips. Zips are little things that spin around and then take off into the sky dropping beautiful colors of sparkles as they go. When we did them at my aunt's house, the driveway was so sloped they would roll down, so we just lit them and threw them. No big deal. So I lit one and threw it and it took off heavenward and the kids were very impressed. The next three didn't go anywhere and the kids were mad. They were griping. Shari made the comment that if it took off, she was kinda scared it would come toward them. I told her, nah, it would fly right over. So I light the next one, throw it a good ten feet away and that sucker took off and came straight toward me and collided with my forehead! It immediately started swelling and I had a pretty good bump on my head. There was a small cut that was bleeding.
Thank God that it didn't hit my eyes. Kim gave me an ice pack and a wet towel. We tried to take a picture, but discovered the camera was broken. It only takes videos now!! So everyone just took pics of me on their phones. I was ok. The next day, the swelling went down a lot, but my head hurt. Ibu took the pain away. We went home. Sunday I had a stampin' up! party and woke up with my eyes starting to turn black. Today they are worse.
I feels like I have a bad sinus infection. I can't wait until this is healed and quits hurting. This is def. a vacation we will never forget!!
