We had a little Christmas with Sasha, Brendalynn, and Duprhee Saturday before Christmas. I thought Brendalynn looked absolutely adorable in her new outfit I got her.
Then we went to stay with my step-mom while she recovered from foot surgery. It was supposed to be a simple procedure. She was supposed to have spurs removed off the tops of her feet and be recovered in two weeks. Well, not so easy. When the Dr. removed the spurs he found a bigger problem and he fixed that. Recovery time is now six weeks and she can't put any weight on her feet except to go to the bathroom. I loved being able to help her. I was supposed to leave Christmas Eve to go to my cousin's house in Yukon, but Mother Nature had other plans. A blizzard blew through leaving several inches of snow. Ciara played on a chair for a huge part of the day.
She opened her present from me on Christmas Eve. She got a teacher stuff box filled with everything she could ever need to play teacher. Workbooks, stickers, a desk organizer, tacks, paper clips, desk tape, sticky notes... even a treasure box to reward her imaginary students! She held up the white out and hugged it and said, "It is just what I always wanted." She also got a baseball Scentsy pot. She played school on Popa's coffee table for a while using the pictures on it for her imaginary students. Aunt Lacretia came by for a while and they made snow angels on the porch.
Then she wrote a note to tell Santa her new location and left him some cookies. It took forever to get her to sleep that night. Santa found her and brought her gifts. She got a baseball bat so she can practice for softball season. She got an eraser maker to make erasers out of clay. She also got shoes, socks, underwear, and lots of mechanical pencils.
I cooked Christmas dinner by myself for the first time. It wasn't very exciting. I tried to make it special, but it wasn't. I made fried chicken, mashed potatos, gravy, corn. My sister joined us and my step-mom only ate some mashed potatoes as she was feeling nauseous all day.
The next morning, Ciara and I left to drive to Yukon. We had a great Christmas with my two aunts, two uncles, two cousins, their husbands and their kids. I got some fun scrapbooking things to try out. I got some new kitchen towels with sunflowers embroidered on them. I got lots of new clothes. Ciara got some more teacher stuff and a desk to play in her play room. She also got a tape dispenser, stapler and three hole punch for her supplies!! She got an OSU t-shirt from her "dad" and he told her not to wear Tech clothes around him anymore!! We got a Wii also. We are having fun playing and learning how to play.
That night my family played a new game called Quelf. It was so fun and we had a great time. If you haven't played this game yet, I reccommend it. It is so much fun and we can't wait to play again.
Then we came home and I thought I might do something, but have mostly just rested, read and had fun playing the wii. It is nice to chill.
