We're Here Because We're Here Because We're Here ....

We made it to Florida!! What a looong drive!!

First of all I want to mention that we dropped off our beloved Coco Bear with the Jeffcoats. He has two new friends, Gracie and Elijah. He has a new farm to roam around on. I hope they love him and he loves his new home. We left Childress at 12:20pm and arrived at Mannford at 8: 15 pm. It was a very long day. Along the way, we came across a wreck and had to slow down. We never saw the vehicles, but saw glass covering the road. I immediately said the prayer I say every time that I come across a wreck. I thanked Jesus for keeping us safe and prayed that he be with those who were in the accident. For the last few years, I have started doing this outloud and encourage Ciara to pray for the people involved and thank Jesus for keeping us safe also. Friday night she told me that Mrs. Matteson, her teacher, had told her that Jesus would keep us safe on our trip and that we wouldn't have a wreck. Immediately, I silently thanked God for Mrs. Matteson. I am so grateful that Ciara has such a wonderful christian woman for a teacher who is not afraid to share her faith. I wish that Ciara could always believe and trust and all her teachers and that they will never lead her astray. Thanks, Mrs. Matteson.

After enjoying a Christmas celebration together, we were off to bed for just a few hours to leave at 6:20 a.m. Saturday morning. Shari and I took the first kid car shift. I made her laugh way too hard when I announced to the children that we were staying at the World's Largest Hotel....Chain that night. We discovered that the dvd's I had made for the kids to watch wouldn't work on Julie's van's dvd player. We passed by a flock of more ducks than I have ever seen in my life near Lake Tenkiller. Later we passed by Lake Dardonell. I thought that was a hick hillbilly name and made Shari laugh all day with Dardonellisms. Bekah, age 3, told me that darn was a bad word and I shouldn't say it. She is soooo, dare I say it, (darn) cute.

A few days ago, Ciara came home from school and said that her teacher told her that she should keep her eyes open on the way to Florida cause she would go across the Montana River. Well, we crossed that Montanna River in Memphis, Tennessee. Some call it the Mississippi River. I asked Ciara what she thought about that big river and she said, "Mom, there are privates on it!" I love her precious words.

Last night Shari laughed at me again, and I am still laughing. (Ok, I have tried to write this three times now, but started laughing so hard I had to run to the bathroom.) We were so hungry when we got to our motel at 9:30pm last night in Prattville, Alabama. Shari and I drove around to the Cracker Barrel next door to see if they were still open while the others were checking into the motel. The parking lot was empty, but the sign at CB said they stayed open til 11 pm. I turned around and told Shari this, and then told her I would go in and get a table. She very sarcastically replied, "It's not like there will be a big rush on them." Ok, as I read this over again, I realize it wasn't very funny, but if you have been in a van for 13 hours, it was hilarious. I guess it was a htbt (had to be there) funny.

We arrived at our house by the mouse today. It is so beautiful. 6 bedrooms and I get one to myself. It has a heated pool in the back. I took the kids swimming while some of the others went to a grocery store. It felt wonderful. Myah and Ciara played their favorite game of saving a drowning victim and Rebekah made cute poses for me. I loved being out of a van and relaxing in the warm water. While we swam we heard the Disney fireworks and watched the sky change colors.

Tomorrow is Disney. I don't think we have decided which park we are going to yet, but we are looking at Hollywood studios for our first day. Everyone is so excited. Thanks, Shari, for getting your Masters and asking for a graduation trip to Disney, and for the laughs!! By the way, do you want a bite of apple??!!

Hi Stephanie! This is Julie's friend Amanda. She told me I could keep up with you all on your blog. Very cool. Good for you! Thanks for encouraging my BF to start a blog. I've only been asking her to for 2 years now so you must have some kind of influence! :-) Tell everyone I said "hello" and keep those updates coming!
