We had a lovely Easter weekend. We were out of school on Friday. Thursday night C played her first softball game and they lost 15-16. She hit an out at the very end and was so upset. Friday night we went to our church for a video and communion service for Good Friday. Saturday we went to Altus and saw Hop and Rio and shopped. It was so relaxing. Sunday we woke up really early to go to the sunrise service at 7 am. Then we ate breakfast at church. After church there was an egg hunt for the kids. I am glad C is still young enough to want to hunt eggs.
Here is one of the songs we sang Sunday morning that was so awesome. Most people have only heard one verse, but there are five and they tell the easter story so well. It is based on this bible verse:
Isaiah 52:7
"How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him
that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace;
that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation;
that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
How lovely on the mountains are the feet of him,
Who brings good news, good news;
Announcing peace, proclaiming news of happiness.
Our God Reigns! Our God Reigns!
- Chorus
Our God reigns! Our God reigns!
Our God reigns! Our God reigns!
Our God reigns! Our God reigns!
Our God reigns! Our God reigns!
That we should be drawn to Him.
He was despised and we took no account of Him.
Yet now He reigns, with the Most High.
It was our sin and guilt that bruised and wounded Him.
It was our sin that brought Him down.
When we like sheep had gone astray our Shepherd came,
And on His shoulders He bore our shame.
Meek as a lamb, that's led out to the slaughterhouse,
Dumb as a sheep, before it's shearer;
His life ran down upon the ground like pouring rain,
That we might be born-again!
Out from the tomb He came with grace and majesty;
He is alive, He is alive!
God loves us so, see here His hands, His feet, His side;
And yes, we know, He is alive!
